About Sounds Good Choir!
Our Mission: Sounds Good Choir, NFP is a fun, welcoming community where older adults enhance their well-being through the joy of music.
Jonathan and Sandy Miller created the Sounds Good Choir organization in early 2016 and in 2018 added a second program, the Good Memories Choir, for people with early-stage memory loss and their care partners, singing together. Both programs were created by following nationally-recognized models (Encore Creativity and the Giving Voice Initiative, respectively).
We currently serve 7 choirs in the greater Chicagoland area. In 2020, we began free online sing-alongs, including a session to serve people with memory loss and their care partners. More than 650 people have performed with us since inception.
All are welcome, regardless of experience or ability. Some singers enjoy more than one rehearsal location on a regular basis when we are singing in person.
Our concerts are always free of charge to the community. We are an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt organization.
You’re never too old to try something new—and to have the time of your life!
