Bob Horner
Born and raised in Oak Park, Illinois, Bob attended Christ Lutheran Grade School and Walther Lutheran High School. Bob has one son and two granddaughters and has been a widow since 2017. His hobbies include knife forging, hiking, ballroom dancing, amateur historian, family genealogy. He has sung with Sounds Good Choir since 2019, been on its board since 2022, and in 2023 became Sounds Good Choir’s board chair.
After graduating in 1971 with highest distinction from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, Bob obtained his MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business in 1975, and went on to enjoy a successful career as the CEO of Home Touch Mortgage, Pulte Mortgage, Citicorp Mortgage, and the CFO of Pulte Homes and Herman Transport. Bob is a founding partner of Winthrop Properties Residential Development.
Among Bob’s other charitable and community activities, he was campaign chairman for the restructuring and fundraising of Walther Lutheran High School, and he sits on the boards of the St. Louis Orchestra and the St. Louis Area Boy Scouts of America, and he chairs the board of the St. Louis Economic Roundtable.
