Daniel Segner

Daniel Segner is a graduate of Valparaiso University where he earned his Bachelor of Music in Church Music/Organ Performance with his teacher Lorraine Brugh. Currently, he holds the position of Director of Music at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn, IL. He was the Principal Organist for First United Methodist Church at Chicago Temple in Chicago, IL, where he served under Director of Music Erik Nussbaum. He has studied piano with Nicole Lee, voice with Christopher Cock, and harpsichord with Joseph Bognar. Mr. Segner is a current teacher of piano and voice as a faculty member at Music Makers of Western Springs in Western Springs, IL. In 2017, Daniel Segner was a finalist in the Albert Schweitzer Organ Competition where he won the David Spicer Hymn Playing Award.

His recent performances in Chicago have included the Elliot Chapel Organ Recital Series, the Loyola University Organ Concert Series, and the Paul Manz Organ Recital Series. Collaborations have included performances with Chorus Angelorum, Civitas (Chicago Symphony Orchestra chamber group), and with the Valparaiso University Symphony and LaPorte Symphony Orchestras. While at Valparaiso University, he received the Ronald G. Reidenbach Prize in Church Music and the Signature Artist Award. He is an active member of the American Guild of Organists and the American Choral Directors Associations.
