2025 Summer Rocks:
Let the Sunshine In!
Get out your peace signs, sunglasses, and tie-dyed T-shirts! Our 2025 Summer Rocks session, “Let the Sunshine In,” is a celebration of the stunning musical decade of 1961-1971. From the thundering beats of “Wimoweh/The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and the oh-so-cool pulsing of Sonny and Cher’s “The Beat Goes On,” our program pivots to the carefree “Fun, Fun, Fun” by the Beach Boys. Then it’s time to pull on your shades and get reflective with “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles, “Homeward Bound” by Simon and Garfunkel, and “You’ve Got a Friend” by Carole King. Singers will also enjoy belting out “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In” from the musical Hair, in a version for choir based on the blockbuster hit by the Fifth Dimension.
This summer, join one of our Summer Rocks choirs and over the course of 8-weeks, you’ll learn, rehearse, and then perform a free public concert with a live, 5-piece band. Along the way, you will discover the warm and supportive Sounds Good Choir community of adults 55 “and better” who love to have fun and sing. And you can sing as much as you’d like each week: in addition to attending your weekly home choir rehearsal, you can also join and any/all of our other choirs at their rehearsal locations, use our custom online practice tracks, and join the optional online Friday rehearsal.
