Hannah Dixon McConnell
Hannah Dixon McConnell hails from Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, and now calls Evanston home. This is Hannah’s ninth year as Choir Director at the First Presbyterian Church of Evanston, where she also serves as the Director of Music & Worship. On Palm Sunday 2019, Hannah served as chorus master for Bach’s St. Matthew Passion at First Presbyterian. As a soprano, Hannah sings with the Grant Park Chorus, the Music of the Baroque Chorus, the Chicago Symphony Chorus, Cleveland’s Apollo’s Fire Chorus, Philadelphia’s The Crossing choir, and Bozeman MT’s Roots in the Sky choir. She has been a Young Artist at Glimmerglass Opera and Chicago Opera Theater and was the soprano cover in Haydn’s The Creation (Eve) and in Schubert’s Mass in A-flat Major with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Nine years after completing the MM in Voice Performance and Literature at the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University, Hannah completed the MM in Choral Conducting from her alma mater.
