2026 Spring Session

We’re delighted to announce that we’re turning 10 this year! In honor of our 10th Anniversary, we’re kicking off the celebration by dedicating the repertoire for the 2026 Spring Session to eight of the most beloved songs our choirs have performed since we began back in 2016.

You’ll cross musical genres, tempos and lyrical styles with this program handpicked by conductors Linda Crabtree Powell and Sounds Good Choir co-founder and artistic director, Jonathan Miller. There’s jazz: the easy, swinging hooks of “Fly Me to the Moon” and (jazz hands or no), the iconic “And All  That Jazz”—the opening number from the Broadway musical, “Chicago.” The songbook includes “Lux Aeterna,” a traditional Gregorian chant from the Requiem Mass set to beautiful melodic effect in Tom Porter’s arrangement. Then you’ll learn the haunting English ballad, “Scarborough Fair,” and a  traditional spiritual, “I’m Gonna Sing When the Spirit Says Sing, performed with four-hand accompaniment on piano. From Aaron Copland’s “Old American Songs,” you’ll master the gentle, treasured hymn, “At the River.” All that and we’ll be singing favorites “Michael, Row the Boat Ashore” and “Big House.”

Join a choir this spring and you’ll have so much fun learning and rehearsing this music and then entertaining our appreciative audiences at the end of the session in our free concerts.

2026 Spring Session Rehearsal & Concert Schedule

Our professional conductors are experts in the training of the older adult voice, and each week they lead a fun and lively, 90-minute practice session, including vocal warmups and breathing exercises, as you learn and practice each song.
